The Society Mission Statement

The following is the "Mission Statement" or Purpose Clause" contained in the Certificate of Incorporation of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Inc. The original Certificate of Incorporation was filed on July 17, 1937 in the State of New York and the "Mission Statement" or "Purpose Clause" was amended on October 9, 1976. It reads:

"To preserve the friendships and loyalties enjoyed and the prestige and esteem achieved while serving as Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and in furtherance thereof;

"To encourage respect for our Country and its traditions and to foster security and freedom from destructive forces, foreign or domestic;

"To seek to elevate and strengthen the public image of the good law enforcement officer as an asset to his community and the image of the good law enforcement agency as a vital force for the good of our country;

"To foster and promote the ideal that ours is a Nation living under the Rule of Law;

"To inculcate in the young people of our Nation the principles of loyalty to their Country and good citizenship;

"To serve the Nation in any emergency calling for men with FBI training and experience and complete dedication to the principles of Fidelity, Bravery and Integrity;

"To do any other act or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or in advancement thereof; but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of its members, directors or officers except as permitted by Article 5 of the Not-For-Profit Corporation Law."
